Charcoal Fish
Quite possibly the bougie-est fish and chips shop I’ve eaten at — and my goodness — it absolutely, deliciously, delivers.

Incredibly delicious Thai food, with a hint of fancy. The menu’s quite extensive, so I’m definitely coming back for more!
Izakaya, but make it very fancy. There’s so much to try on the menu, and a lot made for sharing. Good enough for me to consider going back here for their weekday lunch specials.
A peak-Melbourne café in the backstreets of North Melbourne. Go here for a solid selection of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and pastries, and chill on the milk crate boxes.
Another boutique, Japanese-inspired ice cream shop—right near Lido Cinemas, perfect for a post-movie treat. Come for the flavours, stay for the excellent range of waffle cones.
My girlfriend took me here once (as an educational trip of sorts) and now I can’t stop going back. Great value food, and absolutely delicious at that. And the sambals—my goodness.
One of the best izakaya experiences I’ve ever had. First time trying ochazuke too—I think I’ve found my new favorite Japanese dish.
Their toasties are great, the cheeses are good, but their “woodfired sourdough”? Not so good, and a little bit rubbery.
